She Thought She’d Never See Paris Again…!

At first, Flowers thought the good-news call from the vet might be a prank. She’d received several of those back when Paris first went missing. Photo: Tanya Flowers via AP

Paris is back in Jersey City where she belongs.

At least that’s what Tanya Flowers thinks!

The Jersey City, NJ, resident is over the moon now that the little Maltese who went missing six months ago is home to stay.

Flowers told the Jersey Journal that she spent days distributing hundreds of fliers and calling local shelters when her tiny dog ran off from her apartment back in September; she was afraid she’d never see Paris again. But then a Staten Island shelter contacted her, letting her know her dog had been found.

“I wasn’t sure if this was a joke or not, because I had received numerous prank phone calls from the fliers I had put up,” Flowers said.

The story goes that a man found Paris walking the streets of North Bergen, NJ, four months ago and decided to keep her. But when he decided he could no longer care for her, she wound up at the man’s mother’s home in Staten Island. When the woman took Paris to the vet, her microchip was discovered and Paris was reunited with her rightful owner.

Flowers said she couldn’t be happier to have “her baby” back home.

“When I walked up to the door in Staten Island and saw my dog, I just started screaming,” Flowers said. She said Paris immediately began barking and licking her face.
