This is the moment a high-speed police chase in Dallas came to a dramatic end when an angry mother dragged the fleeing driver into the street after he smashed into the back of her family's car at a traffic light.
A news helicopter following the chase captured Jessica Liesmann's confrontation with the reckless driver as she and another driver held the man until police arrived.
Ms Liesmann, who lost one of her children to a health condition last year, told The Dallas Morning News that said she flew into a rage over fear that her 13-year-old son, who was on board, could have been killed.
"I saw him [the fugitive] come behind me and hit me. I turned around and asked my son, 'Are you okay?' and he was like 'Yeah' - so I jumped out the car and was like, 'What the hell is wrong with you? You're in a school zone. What are you thinking?' He didn't say anything," she said.
The protective mother's reaction has made her a local celebrity. As well as messages of support she has also had car dealers offering to replace her car for free.
