PUPDATE: Lola Has Been Reunited With WWII Vet She Was Stolen From!

Two days ago we brought you a story out of Downey, California where 93-year-old WWII vet, Roger LeClair’s dog Lola was stolen from him.  Well, we are very pleased to announce that Lola has been returned home safe and sound, and LeClair feels whole again.

LeClair said that a young boy on his way home from school noticed a woman in a red car pull up to the yard Lola was in and take her.  When the boy asked what she was doing, she told him she was taking a dog to the vet, and then took off with the dog.

Once the story hit the internet and local television news stations, LeClair said that people from all over were calling in, willing to help in any way that they could.  One man, called Byron Holtzclaw, who is also a veteran, was even willing to put up a reward of $5,000 for Lola’s safe return.

“I actually feel his pain.  I’ve seen guys killed in the war, and it didn’t hurt me as much as it hurt me to see him with that dog because I think it related to me when I was a kid,” he said.

LeClair believes that the person that took his dog wound up losing their nerve and dumping Lola off somewhere.  Regardless, he simply happy to have her back at home with him.  A local restaurant called Chris and Pitts BBQ even threw a small reunion celebration, with Mr. Holtzclaw was in attendance as well.  Apparently, LeClair and Lola are regulars there, and the entire crew was happy to see them together again.
